Head Director - Paige Hartley
Ms. Paige Hartley is enjoying her thirteenth year of teaching and her sixth year working in Weatherford ISD. Although a native Texan, Ms. Hartley traveled out of state to earn a Bachelor of Education in Instrumental Music from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR. She graduated summa cum laude, top of her class. There, she studied both the trumpet and the piano, culminating in a senior recital showcasing performances on both of her instruments. While at college, she actively participated in various university ensembles including Wind Ensemble, Brass Choir, and the infamous Showband of Arkansas. Today, she still performs during the holiday seasons and for fun.
Ms. Hartley's professional affiliations include Texas Music Educator's Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Texas Music Adjudicators Association. She also serves as the lead coordinator for the Region 30 Invitational Honor Band. When Ms. Hartley is not at school, she enjoys playing pickleball, serving on her church worship team, and spending time with friends and family.
Associate Director - Samantha Ojeda
Mrs. Samantha Ojeda is excited to start her fifth year of teaching as Associate Band Director for Tison Middle School. Originally from East Texas, Mrs. Ojeda traveled to Natchitoches, Louisiana to earn a Bachelor of Music Education and a Bachelor of Music Performance from Northwestern State University. She graduated summa cum laude, at the top of her class. While studying, she was actively involved in multiple teaching and performance opportunities. As a clarinet player, Mrs. Ojeda participated in a Sophomore and Senior recital, and performed with various university ensembles including the Wind Symphony, Chamber Winds, Clarinet Choir, and Spirit of Northwestern Marching Band. She even traveled to Spain with the NSU Wind Symphony as an invited ensemble for the 2019 WASBE Conference.
Her professional affiliations include Texas Music Educator's Association and Texas Bandmasters Association. When Mrs. Ojeda is not in the band hall, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, running long distance, and thrift store shopping.
Director of Percussion - Chris Kleven
Chris Kleven has been an active performer and educator in the Dallas / Fort Worth area for the past decade. He has performed for local professional sports teams such as the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue Drumline, Dallas Mavericks Drumline, and FC Dallas Drumline. Mr. Kleven has also performed with DCI and WGI World Class ensembles, making Finals with Surround Sound Percussion (WGI) in 2009, solo performance at the 2007 Convention for the Texas Music Educators Association and selection to the Small College Intercollegiate Band in 2011. As an educator, Mr. Kleven has taught in both private and public school as well as instructed local DCI/WGI ensembles. He was on the instructional staff for Vigilantes Indoor Percussion when they placed first and won Open Class at Winter Guard International Championships in 2016. Mr. Kleven is a graduate of Tarleton State University and is now entering his eighth year as Percussion Coordinator for Weatherford ISD.
